Thanks for the rec, Ruth. I'm behind on my reading anyway. Thanks for the tip about Taprobane - it was the Greek name for SL, I believe. In Ptolemy's map it features as a disproportionately large land mass, which is probably because it was an important stopover link between the sea routes of the East and the West back "in them days". =)
