What is your occupation? Student

What are you listening to right now? Urumaya (Heritage) by the Centigrades. Fusion at its best!

What was the last thing you ate? Rice, dahl and salmon curry.

Do you wish on stars? If I’m desperate enough I guess. Though I’d also have to be pretty desperate to pray to a huge inanimate ball of gas millions of light years away. But I’ve done stranger things.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Lavendar

Last person you spoke to on the phone? Praveeni.

How old are you today? 18 years, 3 months and 10 days.

Favorite drink? Milo, Woodapple juice, Cream Soda.

Favorite sport to watch? Skating.

Have you ever dyed your hair? Nope. My hair may not be the best in the world but I refuse to mutilate   it. Hands off my hair!

Do you wear contacts? I’d love to, but my parents don’t see the need for them as long as I have my glasses. They think I look smart in them, but the fact that my eyes are getting more and more sunken by day is rather lost upon them. Shall lobby for contacts first thing after my exams!

Any Pets? Dad hates animals and Ammi says having the three of us (me, my sis and bro) in the house is enough animal life for her to handle. So no. Pity though, they used to have cats and dogs a-plenty till we were born and the dogs got jealous of us. I used love the last dog we had when I was about three, a beautiful pure white pommy called Judy, who snarled at me every time I got within five feet of her. xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

Favorite month? December. Christmas Bonuses, shopping sprees and vacation time!

Favorite food? Coffee Cake from Fab!

What was the last movie you watched? Phone Booth. I hadn’t realized how sexy Kiefer Sutherland’s disembodied voice could be. Und Colin Farrel be yummy!

Favorite day of the year? My birthday, for obvious reasons.

What do you do to vent anger? Confide in one of my long-suffering friends, indulge in chocolates and bitching session. Or rant on my LJ. Or sulk in my room till I feel better.

What was your favorite toy as a child? Flora, my huge rag doll with the plastic face. There was a time when I’d take her everywhere with me. She was the Queen of the Nursery (A rather matronly, practical kind of Queen, I made her out to be, because she was a plump doll and every kid knows fat people can’t be  Fairy Queens) and got married to Grey Bear about twice a month.

Fall or Spring? I don’t know. It’s summer bloody summer all the time where I live and I haven’t been out of the country.

Hugs or kisses? Hugs :-D!

Cherry or Blueberry? Erm, I’ve never eaten blueberry but I hate cherry.

Do you want your friends to mail you or post back? *Nods vigorously*

Who is most likely to respond? Well I’d say [livejournal.com profile] queenofhearts17 , but since I swiped this off of her in the first place, I’d say [livejournal.com profile] cherrychalk  or [livejournal.com profile] redhead10 .

Who is least likely to respond? Dasha, I mean [livejournal.com profile] missile_envy ;-).  Check out her fic Two to Lead people! It’s the BEST DAMN FANFIC I’ve ever read!

Living arrangements? I live with my parents of course, but I feel a burning need to leave the nest more and more.

When was the last time you cried? Yesterday morning. Dad was yelling at me.

What is on the floor of your closet? All the go-abroady trunks. It’s a reflection on family philosophy: when there’s no other place to dump it, use Hasini’s room.

Who is the friend you have known the longest? Sachithra. She’s my oldest friend, who used to be my best as well. We’ve kind of grown apart a bit, but bonds that were forged when you were 5-year-olds and trying to bite each other’s fingers to the bone during a catfight are not easily broken.

What did you do last night? Sat for the Junior Achievement School Company Awards interviews. At 10.30 in the night. For which we’d arrived at 8 in the morning. Came home at eleven and slept like the dead.

What are you afraid of? Losing my family, being a failure, never being able to overcome my mental block when it comes to remembering roads and landmarks, geckos and snakes.

Plain, cheese or spicy hamburgers? Spicy! Cannot live without spice!

Favorite car? Morris Minor or an Indian Ambassador. Well, I think they’re cute! I want my first car to be an Ambassador. I shall call it Hubert.

Favorite dog breed? I’m a cat person, but I don’t object to dogs. Golden retrievers, English shepherds and pommernerian (can’t spell it) are my favs.

Number of keys on your key ring? 2 only.

How many years at your current job? Don’t have one.

Favorite day of the week? Saturday.

How many states have you lived in? Never lived in the US.

How many cities have you lived in? Er, 7. We are positive gypsies at moving around.

How many countries have you been to? None. *sob*

How many states have you been to? Refer to point above.

If you had a choice where would you live? Canada. The land of the maple leaf hath my heart. Esp. since I love L.M. Montgomery. I’m not sure how I feel about red beaches though.

10 years ago I was: Eight. I can’t remember much about being eight. I associate Enid Blyton and Sweet Valley kids and Tin Tin with eight, but nothing really happened to me at eight. Which is definitely a good thing. Now being nine, I wish I could forget altogether. Features a horrible class teacher.

5 years ago I was: Thirteen. Man, that was the height of my Dork Ages. A fat, mousy bookworm in awful glasses and her school uniform belt falling above her stomach. Wasn’t a bad year though. I had a lot of friends. And it was the year I got to know about Harry Potter. My friend Manesha always had her nose buried in them and I just took one look at the cover and decided they were really too childish for somebody who had graduated from Enid Blyton a long time ago. I used to give her a lot of grief about it. Then one day, at the very end of the school year, I got so bored out of my mind, I just picked one up and began to read. And read. And read. The final bell rang just as Hermione said “Hagrid, you live in a wooden house!” . I was forced to wait another one and half months to finish the rest of the book but I was already deeply smitten. By the time school started next year, I was a committed Harry/Hermione shipper. That was before I read GoF, of course.

1 year ago I was: Seventeen and struggling with both my studies and my co-curriculars. Having decided that I’d had enough of the mousy-kid-whose-name-even-the-class-teacher-doesn’t-remember early that year, I suddenly became the Social Butterfly. I now wonder why I thought being a dweeb was such a bad idea. Having tried all the alternatives, such as Class Clown, Drama Freak, Da Cool Kid, Flirt, Nerd and Formidable Debator, I have now decided that dweeb-hood rulz! At least you get to keep up your grades. My latest role is Netspeak-Freak which one of my friends infected me with.

Yesterday I was: Oh God. Can we please not talk about yesterday?!  Fine.

Culmination of a three-day Junior Achievement workshop. We were to be interviewed for the Junior Achievement Annual Company awards. Went in at 8 o’clock in the morning, dressed to the nines, was interviewed at 10.30. In the night. In the Dark, Dank, Stormy, Murky, COLD night. Featured two sympathetic and impressed male judges and one tired and bitchy female judge. Went home at 11. Got home at 11.30. Had cold shower and passed out for my first real visit to the Land Of Nod in 48 hours. That’s right, I didn’t sleep a wink the preceding night because I was up finalizing my records. The only high point of the day was that I was able to exchange e-mail addresses with this guy I am totally ga-ga about. I don’t think he likes me except as a friend, but still, may be I can pull off a You’ve Got Mail! Although, Tom Hanks didn’t know who he was mailing. And I’ll never be gorgeous like Meg Ryan. Oh sod, boys!

5 snacks I enjoy: Woodapple and Orange juice (freshly squeezed!), Milo, Cream Soda, Coca cola. Or maybe  Pepsi, if I feel like doing that Bubbly commercial starring Shah Rukh Khan.

5 songs I know the words to: I hope you dance by LeAnn Womack, Travelling Soldier by the Dixie Chicks, I want to spend my lifetime loving you  by Mark Anthony and Tina Arena, Kal Ho Na Ho, Baate Meri Suniye  from Kuch na Kaho. That last one is quite an achievement for me, considering I don’t actually understand Hindi beyond the basics. Lucky my sis is fluent.

5 things I would do with one million dollars: Set up my own current account, set up trust fund for siblings, send the parents on that round-the-world cruise I keep promising them, buy the franchise of Cure Autism Now for Sri lanka and help set up an effective island-wide program to locate and educate autistic or mentally handicapped children.

Then, if I had any money left, I’m going on a shopping spree!

5 places I would run away to: I’ll just name the countries because the places are too numerous: Switzerland (Must see Alps!), Canada, Australia, Seychelles, Norway.

5 favorite TV shows: Lois and Clark ; the New Adventures of Superman, Gilmore Girls, 24, Charmed, Veronica Mars. And no I haven’t watched Veronica Mars. We don’t have cable. But I was so curious about what all the fuss was about, that I got down all the episode transcripts from TWIZ TV. It isn’t the same as watching it, I know, but the scripts do ROCK.

And yes, I have a Lois Lane fixation. Anybody else watched that show?

5 fictional characters I would date: James Potter, Harry Potter, Aragon, Legolas, Will from Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials.

5 people I tag to do this: [livejournal.com profile] missile_envy , [livejournal.com profile] ajroald , [livejournal.com profile] anotherdreamer5, [livejournal.com profile] cherrychalk , [livejournal.com profile] lolaleila , [livejournal.com profile] lady0fshalot (so I can't count. Sue me!)
