Title: Five Women Who Hate Fleur Delacour
Author:
snegurochka_lee
Characters: Gabrielle, Narcissa, Molly, Tonks, Minerva, Luna. Oh, and Fleur. ;)
Rating: PG-13 (possibly R for some strong language)
Words: ~7,300
Content: DH-compliant
Summary: She was beautiful, intelligent, talented, successful – and not very nice about it. Clearly, other women must hate her.
One of the most powerful commentaries on feminism, combining character study and social observation, that I've ever read in the HP fandom. It amazes me how deftly she deals with the many perceptions of the women in HP without succumbing to character bashing. If this sort of text were made requried reading for every young girl, the women's movement would be aeons ahead by now. For this is the kind of story that teaches us to be better people, and kinder to one another.
