I am a hamster
Trapped in a world too large
Boxed in a cage too small
Food in trays
Water in bowls
Love in petting fingers
Safe in a home
I don’t belong
Nothing to do
But run on my play wheel
Run and run and run and run

Make it turn and turn and turn
For if it stops
I shall remember that
I am a hamster
