Kripke Has Stolen My Fanfic OMG!
Feb. 1st, 2008 09:43 amI've been fucking Kripke'd!! (As oposed to being Jossed.)
The fic I was writing for
lostprincess87might as well have been titled Malleus Maleficarum because he fucking turned everything I was writing into canon! I'm not sure whether to love or hate Kripke's brain.
Half of it's canon already! Yay, Kripke, your brain is a great place to live in!
P.S: I know it sounds like a Mary Sue, but Mona is actually a very flawed character so I don't think it'll read like one. I hope not, anyway. I can't help it that all hetfic in SPN comes across as at least marginally Suestastic. They want us to slash the boys, I tells ya.
The fic I was writing for
Since I don't like Ruby, my story went slightly AU by introducing a character called Mona to fill in Ruby's shoes. She's a demon whose help the boys must unwillingly accept in order to save Dean from his deal. Mona pretends that she's just in it because she backs Sam's possible claim to anti-christing and it's all demon politics from there. What they don't know is that she actually is out to save Dean's soul from hell because it was him she went to hell for in the first place, hundreds of years before.
Mona was once born into a family of very powerful witches who led the charge against Azazel. Sam (Or Sean, as he was called then) was her little brother in a past life and Alexander (Dean) was a supernatural soldier created by a warlock to seduce Mona away from the light side. Alexander quickly wins Mona's heart but in a twist of events, falls for Mona in turn. After Sean is killed in an ambush meant for Mona, Alexander helps her take down the warlock who created him. Enraged by the betrayal, the warlock kills Alexander, condemning his soul to hell (as he was created by Black Magic anyway). Mona strikes a bargain with Azazel - she gives up her soul to him in exchange for Alexander's soul to be freed and granted full humanity. Before walking into hell, Mona lays the corpses of Sean and Alexander side by side and binds their souls together so that they will always be born as brothers and look after each other, in every lifetime after this one.
Hundreds of years pass by. Mona gives up her humanity over the years, and wilingly becomes a demon as it is easier to be a demon in a hell rather than a human. She claws her way up the political ladder to become one of Azazel's most ruthless associates. Upon his death, hundreds of demons are freed via Hell's Gate, including her. She finds out that Alexander and Sean has been re-incarnated as the feared and loathed Winchesters, and that Dean has sold his soul for Sam. Angered and determined that her sacrifice all those years ago not be wasted, she comes to help Dean get out of his deal.
The one thing that demons and humans have in common is that they can love. Love is a force that exists outside of Light and Darkness. Mona still loves Alex and Sean as she remembers them, but the trouble is that they've been dead for hundreds of years and the Winchesters who share their souls are nothing like them. Nor is she anything like the woman she was before - after years in hell, the one price she isn't willing to pay for Dean's safety is going to hell again. However, as events unfold, it may be that she won't have much of a choice - either she must sacrifice herself again or let Dean suffer the consequences of his deal. And if that wasn't confusion enough, Dean begins to unknowingly reawaken Mona's humanity, the same way Mona did for Alexander centuries before.
Whatever happens, there are no such things as happy endings for demons and humans who deal with them.

Date: 2008-02-01 01:21 pm (UTC)Am downloading it now. Watch out for the never-seen-before Dean/Ruby chemistry! I. KNEW. IT! *dances*
Do you think Mona should be blonde or brunette? Blondes go best with Jensen, but I like brunettes myself. We are Asian, na?
I cannot WAIT to see you tomorrow!

Date: 2008-02-01 01:07 pm (UTC)But Kripked is used more often when he validates fanon, while jossed is usually used when the showrunner invalidates fanon. I have no idea why we don't also say "rowlinged" in the HP fandom, but there you are. Being "Kripked" is a phenomenon that is unusually prevalent in the Supernatural fandom leading to the popular belief that Eric Kripke has his own LJ and likes Wincest.

Date: 2008-02-01 01:40 pm (UTC)but then again, Joss never really quits you so I guess i'll scratch former. I've just moved to something else! (like Bones and David Boreanaz starring as Booth. I like Bones-Booth chemistry!)
oh...I see! I really should tour youtube for SPN vids then! to see what that verse really is like!

Date: 2008-02-01 01:47 pm (UTC)I was more into Spike/Buffy myself. This back and forthing between Angel and Angelus made me give up on him. =(
I haven't actually sat down and watched a full season of Joss Whedon's work yet. Not my fault. The world had other plans for me.

Date: 2008-02-01 01:10 pm (UTC)And yes, the FoLCs ARE amazingly talented, but the SPN fandom has the single highest concentration of great fanfic that I've ever encountered in my five years in the meta-fandom, and that includes the Harry Potter one which is massive.
I'd say fifty-fifty. =D
