Speechless.
Nov. 24th, 2005 11:44 amMy life is a farce.
I’m sure the cosmos are laughing their mean, petty little heads off about my life right now. In fact, they must capture it on video and air it on their TV networks as primetime entertainment. Well I’m glad somebody is getting a kick out of this situation ‘cos it sure ain’t me!!
And what is all this halubaloo about, you ask? Well, you know how I endured being sundered from my darling Humphries for a fortnight and put in 18 study hours per day (well-almost) for the past few weeks in anticipation of my finals?
All for naught. All for bloody naught. Zilch. Nada. Kookums.
Because thanks to the fact that it’s been raining for forty days and forty nights and is cold as a tropical country can possibly be, plus the fact that I am a walking resthouse for stray viruses, plus the fact that I have been only having about three hours of beauty sleep per night on account of being up studying, I am now a quivering wreck of tonsillitis and a 100-degree flu.
In other words, I am missing my finals as I speak. In fact, I have now missed nearly all my exams.
And our relatives visited us last night and I couldn’t even sit up to talk to them properly because the aforesaid cosmos had replaced my head with a canon ball.
And most unkindly of all, my parents keep making insinuations that I brought this on myself on purpose to miss the exams by having a shower in the afternoon when it was freezing cold. And we don’t have a water-heater (we usually don’t need one because it’s usually quite warm hereabouts, night and day.).
Well, of course I had a shower in the afternoon! I leave home at the crack of dawn and come back at around 3’o clock! When else am I to have a shower? Hell-o? It’s called personal hygiene.
So as I said, my life is a farce equal to Bertie Wooster’s without a Jeeves in it.

You know the worst part about tonsilitis is that you can't eat even when you're hungry enough to turn cannibal.
Whoa! He was sick during his SATS?! And I thought I had it bad!
Actually, the last time this happened, it was during my Literature O/L. 99 degrees and I still did the test only to wind up with a C. 7 As out of eight and a C for my best subject!
Oh, well. That was then and it is now, which very much like then as well.
You can tell I'm delirious, can't you?
So what's up in Miriam-land?
*slurps soup*

:D It's okay that you're delirious; you're sick. You have a right to be silly and stuff.
Hmmmmm. Not much as it is breeaaaaaakkkkkkkkkk. Thank goodness for that. The only thing I have planned for this week (well, besides Thanksgiving dinner) is the movies on Saturday with a bunch of my school friends.

Hey, did you follow the link I posted in my earlier entry? It's a hilarously snarky recap of GoF!
*pimps LJ entry shamelessly*
And yeah, I live in Sri Lanka. Not that you'd recognise it, on account of the torrential rain right now.

Date: 2005-11-24 07:01 am (UTC)And, on the bright side, at least you've studied now, so you can make up your exams and not have to study anymore!
I do hope the cosmos decide to take pity on you soon, dear. I'll ask them personally, in fact. They like me. I make grits for them on occassion.
Feel better and good luck!

Date: 2005-11-24 07:02 am (UTC)Where in the bloody hell did I come up with this Univ. of Michigan thing?
Good God.

Date: 2005-11-24 07:09 am (UTC)And I'm nowhere near University yet, because the current education system decrees that a kid's got to slog for 13 and a 1/2 years, do their Advanced levels at nineteen, wait six months for results and a University placement and finally sight higher education at around TWENTY!
So I have a good year and half before I am encumbered by Univerity plans.
Sux to be born in a third world country.I love many things about this fair isle, its politics notwithstanding, but the education system is not one of them.
But please do have a word with the Cosmos. Preferably with a heavy bat for reinforcement.
I shall appreciate it greatly!

Date: 2005-11-24 11:15 pm (UTC)Wait. Hang on a tick. What, pray tell, are you doing on the computer if you're ill?!?!?!?! *tucks Hasini in* No coming online until you're completely better, your Highness. Rest plenty, because you need it if you want to get better. Drink warm fluids and most importantly, stay happy! :D
Lots of love and prayers for your good health >
